The WWII Veterans Memorial Trail follows six miles of the Old Colony Railroad route between Mansfield and Norton. While the newest section in Norton will not officially open until next spring, the entire trail is already accessible when not under active construction.
The trail is open to equestrians, cyclists, walkers and runners, and connects commuters with the MBTA in Mansfield Center.
The contractors responsible for building the trail have communicated an updated completion date of Spring 2026. Look forward to an official ribbon cutting next year!
The Friends are now accepting members! Head over to the membership page to learn more about how you can support the trail or fill out this form if you're interested in volunteering.
The majority of the trail will not be plowed this winter. Only the section north of Fruit Street in Mansfield will be cleared. Please use caution when navigating any section of the trail this winter.
